Thanks a lot to all those who contributed..
I was told by Sanish, that we have as of now collected about 1.35 Lakhs for the cause.. Our heart felt gratitude to all of you for your generosity and support..
As we have already been told, the cochlear implant itself would cost somewhere more than Rupees 5 Lakh.. If we consider that the family can arrange for about 1-1.5 Lakhs, we would be around the 3 Lakh mark now..
Deepak Prakash(02-06) told us that it would be possible to reduce the cost of the operation, but might be tough to reduce the cost of the implant as it usually is imported from Canada..
Still, We would like to know if some one in XMEC can help to get the implant done at a lower cost, may be through your own contacts or through family contacts.. Hopefully we can try and get some more money arranged, and if some of you can help with the operation at a lower cost, it would be a real blessing..
Since most of us would be home for Christmas and new year, if you could contact one of the XSA members it would be great.. Contact details:
