XSA Scholarship 2014

Scholarship for new joiners in Model Engineering College

XMEC Social Assist (XSA), the social assistance wing of Govt.Model Engineering College Alumni are offering scholarship worth Rs 1,00,000(25,000 every year) per student for upto 3 students fulfilling the criteria below

Criteria 

1. The scholarship shall be available only to students joining Govt. Model Engineering College, Kochi.
2. Candidates should have a Kerala Entrance rank(KEAM 2014) numerically equal or less than 500.
3. Candidates already getting other scholarships are not eligible.

Deadline for application is 3pm 28th June 2013.

A provisional list of upto 3 selected candidates and 3 wait listed candidates would be published on Govt.Model Engineering College website (www.mec.ac.in) at 10am 29th June 2013.

Donations called to help two patients for Kidney transplantation

Case 1: Referred by: Binoy kavungal (2006-2010)

Details: Patient's name is Gopi and he is 46 years old. He is diagnosed with end stage renal disease. He is under the treatment of Dr. Kishore S Dharan, Kolanchery Medical College. Doctor has  suggested Kidney Transplantation and it  would cost about 8 lakhs including induction therapy, transplantation and immunosuppressive medications for one year. The operation is not scheduled yet because of the financial crisis.

Case 2: Referred by: Faseela K (2006-2010)

Details: Patient's name is Salim.He was working abroad while he was diagnosed with kidney disease, and he came back to India 8 months back.He is doing dialysis thrice a week, (which itself costs 2500Rs), for the last 8 months. His family doesn't have any other income, and they have been surviving with the help from family and other friends.His sister is ready to donate the kidney, and the transplant costs almost 10 lakh rupees.

Request for help for a Kidney Transplantation surgery

We have received a request for help for a Kidney Transplantation surgery. 

The details are as below:

Treatment: Kidney Transplantation surgery

Referred by: Lakshmi S Kumar (2007-11)

Details:  Vyshak T S is 17 years old . He is studying in Govt High School Chengamanad , Aluva. He is diagnosed with Posterior Valve Disorder.He is under the treatment of Dr. Sathish Kumar,Govt Medical College , Kottayam . Doctor has  suggested Kidney Transplantation. It would cost around 2 lakhs per month post surgery for few months + operation cost. The exact duration of post surgery treatment can be determined only after the surgery. The operation as of now is scheduled for next week. His father is a goldsmith and his mother is a house wife. The family is not financially sound to face this amount. The case was referred though Lakshmi's mother who is teaching in vyshak's school.

XSA has received a request form Mani Chechi(Rtd. Sweeper @MEC). Please find the details below.

Treatment: Heart Treatment

Referred by: Rajesh M V (1990-94 batch)

Details:  Mani chechi, was a sweeper at MEC is now retired from her service. In between she has been transferred to various IHRD institutions and the last tenure was with IHRD Model Polytechnic College, Painavu, Idukki. She is alone (divorced) and in bad health conditions as mentioned in her request (attached with reports). It would be of great help if we could support her treatment.

Details:  Ananthakrishnan T N is 22 year old working male. He is diagnosed with Dilated Cardiac Mayopathy. He is under the treatment of Dr. Jose Chacko at Lisie Hospital Cochin. Doctors suggest a Heart Transplantation surgery for him to survive. It costs around 10,00,000 Rupees. Ananthakrishnan's father passed away, his mother is working as sales promoter in Melam Products and brother is working as RJ in Radio Mango, Kannur. He also has 2 sisters. Family is not financially sufficient to face this amount. Details of his treatment and doctor's certificate are provide in the link below.  He needs your generous help.
