Greetings
from the XSA team. It is the time of the year for the alumni to come together
to raise funds for the scholarships for current year. Last year, we gave
scholarship of Rs. 20,000/- each to eleven students. This year, we wish to
extend the scholarship to 5 more students from the current 3rd semester
students. Three of the erstwhile scholarship holders have passed out last year
and hence in total, we would be giving 13 scholarships this year. This would
require a sum of at least Rs 2,60,000/- to be raised. I am sure given the
alumni strength and the positions many of us are at; this can be raised very
easily
To
repeat, the salient points on the scholarship are:
- The
students who were offered scholarship last year would continue to get the same
in the current year
- The
new students would be selected among the 2nd year
- The
quantum of the scholarship is Rs 20,000/- per student
- The
scholarship would be given annually till completion of course
- The
guidelines for student selection would be determined between XSA and the
college

would be great if any of you individually / as a group / as a batch would want
to sponsor full or partial scholarships. If you are interested, please drop me
a mail (george.c.kuriakose@gmail.com)
and we can take it forward. Last year, we had the 1993, 1994 and 2009 batches
sponsoring single scholarship each. We also had a few individuals and groups
donating full scholarship each. Would like to see at least another 5 batches to
come forward to sponsor single scholarships. So we would like to call upon the
batches of at least 1995 – 1999 batches to come forward this year
